Welcome to AGSL — Let’s Play Ball!

We’re excited to have you and your player as part of the Ashburn Girls Softball League community. AGSL is about more than just softball—it’s about building confidence, learning the game, and creating a positive experience for every player.

What to Expect

What to Expect

Softball season moves fast, especially for new families. Here’s a quick look at what you can expect:

  • Practices and games each week
Most teams will have a combination of practices and games throughout the week, depending on age group and coach schedules.
  • A focus on development
AGSL emphasizes learning the game, building confidence, and improving skills in a supportive environment.
  • Progression by age group
As players move up, the game evolves—from introductory formats to more advanced gameplay with increased independence and responsibility.
  • A team-first environment
Players are encouraged to support one another, learn teamwork, and grow both on and off the field.
  • A positive, community-driven experience
AGSL is powered by volunteers and families who help create a fun and encouraging atmosphere for all players.

Being Part of the AGSL Community

Being Part of the AGSL Community

A positive experience for every player starts with a supportive environment. Parents play an important role in helping create that experience.

Here’s what we ask of all AGSL families:

  • Be on time and prepared
Arrive early for games and practices so players are ready to participate and teams can start on schedule.
  • Support your player—and the whole team
Encourage effort, learning, and teamwork. Celebrate progress and help build confidence.
  • Respect coaches, umpires, and volunteers
Coaches and league staff are volunteers giving their time to support the players. Please treat them with respect and allow them to coach and manage the game.
  • Keep it positive from the sidelines
Cheer for all players and help create an encouraging, sportsmanlike atmosphere at every game.
  • Communicate appropriately
If questions or concerns come up, connect with your coach at the right time and in a constructive way.
