AGSL 2009 Scholarship Winners

We are honored to recognize Emily McDaniel from Stone Bridge High School and Marissa Petty from Broad Run High School as the recipients of our two 2009 $1000 scholarships. The selection included consideration of academic excellence, community service, demonstrating the volunteer spirit this organization thrives on and the essay contribution to express personal insight and growth gained from involvement with youth sports and particularly AGSL softball.

The following four applicants exceeded the requirements established by AGSL and were recognized as well with a $500 one time scholarship.  The non-precedent recommendation came from the Scholarship Committee based on their outstanding qualifications:

Judy Betz - Broad Run High School
Kate Benusa - Stone Bridge High School
Stephnie Carey - Briar Woods High School
Kelsey Young - Briar Woods High School

We challenge all of you who would like to participate in recognizing more exemplary young members of our community who have or still participate with this organization to make donations to this scholarship fund. This allowed us to support their dreams of continued education while recognizing their individual efforts to really make a difference.

Our sincere thanks to all the many volunteers who make it possible by your continued support to offer this softball experience to the daughters in our community. You are making the difference!
